This shift was driven by a desire to capture the fleeting, ephemeral qualities of the atmosphere—the way light dances on a surface or settles into a shadow. Settling into a studio within the attic of an old farmhouse in western Maine, she embraced the quiet rhythms of rural life as a catalyst for this new chapter. The transition was seamless, as her foundational understanding of color and texture from her quilting years provided a robust framework for her explorations with oil.
