Lene Adler-Petersen became particularly well-known during the 1960s for her performances, happenings, and films. She works with a wide range of media, including painting, drawing, ceramics, photography, and installations. With her continuous interest in painting, she first produced works aimed at social critique and inspired by encyclopaedic expression, cartoons, and the media; and then, in later works, moved on to the formal problems of the painting tradition and contemporary techniques to explore alternative ways of relating to forms, surfaces, and materials.Adler-Petersen’s
