Subsequently, she pursued advanced studies at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, earning an MFA specializing in Metal Jewelry Design. This academic foundation provided her with critical insights into artistic theory and technique, shaping her approach to crafting exceptional jewelry.
Seo’s artistic practice centers around transforming vintage leather gloves into symbolic wearable objects—a deliberate choice that embodies her fascination with materiality and transformation. Through meticulous layering of enamel pigments onto metal surfaces, she achieves a remarkable feat: capturing the subtle nuances of texture and color while simultaneously conveying deeper meanings related to memory, desire, and vulnerability. Her work is characterized by an unwavering commitment to craftsmanship and a sensitivity to artistic expression.
