Lee Lozano, born Lenore Knaster in Newark, New Jersey, was an artist whose very identity was a masterclass in reinvention and self-definition. Through these drawings, she utilized hand-held implements embellished to suggest genitalia, creating a dialogue between the mechanical and the carnal.
