Wu Shanming was born in 1941 in Pujiang, Zhejiang Province. He graduated from the Department of Chinese Painting of China Academy of Fine Arts in 1964. He is currently a professor and doctoral supervisor of the Department of Chinese Painting of the Chinese Academy of Fine Arts, a director of the Chinese Artists Association, a consultant of the Chinese Painting Society, and a vice-chairman of the Zhejiang Artists Association. He has held exhibitions in Japan, the United States, Canada, Brazil, Panama, Germany, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong and China Central Television have made presentations for him. His representative works include Qiujin, Star Fire, Vitality, Yaziniu, Yan
